Dead today is Dr. Lee Jong-Wook, Head of the World Health Organization is dead at age 61. Brain Hemorrhage. Take your blood pressure medicine (we guess.) In 2004 Dr. Lee said, “Another pandemic is inevitable.” Recall that the last one killed over 40 million people, with a lot fewer souls on the planet. Good excuse to buy that more expensive bottle of wine.
Also off to the never-ether is Val Guest, director and writer of science fiction (“Quatermass Xperiment” and “The Day the Earth Caught Fire”). Happy, happy. Age 94 years; prostate cancer.
