Robert Altman
From the Cinematical.com web site comes word that Robert Altman has died.
Christopher Campbell at Cinematical.com says that Altman “…made my favorite western (McCabe & Mrs. Miller), my favorite movie about Hollywood (The Player
), my favorite movie about the Korean War (MASH
), my favorite wedding movie (A Wedding
) and my favorite movie about country music (Nashville
).”
We ODDones have to admit it is hard to argue with Mr. Campbell. We do note that it is a sad, sad thing that Hollywood nomintated Mr. Altman for an Academy Award five times, but never consumated the deal. Alas. Oh, and lest we forget, Mr. Altman also directed Buffalo Bill and the Indians. Check out the cast on this overlooked gem.

What Satori said.
And also, also: “McCabe and Mrs. Miller.” When I first saw it, I thought the scene in which Keith Carradine is gunned down was just about the most frightening I’d ever seen.
