Yippie! The Return of Pigasus

EEEK! The Oscars are just about upon us and leading the charge is Annie Proulx’s short story that became the movie Brokeback Mountain. Now maybe you are sitting there wondering why Annie’s writing as well as other ‘notable’ and prize-winning writing leaves you with a severe case of the empties and the so-whats? Take a read (or two) through A Reader’s Manifesto and gain another vantage point on today’s so-called prize winning literature. Thinky-thinky now…

The skipping around bit: So what is perhaps the #1 issue with most people? Love? Politics? Religion? Nah, likely its m-o-n-e-y. Most of us aren’t rolling in it like the commercials like to portray, the movies display and the television shows like to shove at us. Since we ODDones seem to be in a suggesting mood today you might give a look at this book: All Your Worth. Couldn’t hurt, eh?

Somehow we started out left of center today at least based on today’s weblog title. Left of center however is appropriate for one of our ODDguests - Stew Albert. Stew was a big part of the Young People’s International Party - the Yippies. Stew didn’t come up with the name, that was Krassner. And neither did Stew achieve the ‘fame’ Abbie Hoffman and Jerry Rubin did. But Stew was definitely a major player and most often brought humor to the game.

Did you also know that Stew was part of the Mutant Force band? And you’ll want to venture over to the Hippie Museum to and read up on Stew of course.

Fare well Pigasus

Oh, and one other thing while we are bouncing around so hapazardly - the ODDones will be offline for a couple days or so. We’ve decided to go create variations on a snow angel theme in honor of a friend recently departed. Not to fret now we certainly will be back. All y’all be safe out there.
